African Rural Community Shepherds in Uganda is a Ugandan Community Based Development organization operating pin Rakai District, south – western Uganda in the sub-counties of Kasaali, Nabigasa, Kalisizo, kirumba, kyotera, lwankoni, kabira and Lwanda with a population of 14,0580.
African Rural community Sherpherds in Uganda (Arcos Uganda) was founded in 1998 by a group of teachers, social workers, pastors and parents who had a concern over the social economic issues among the above named named communities.
These communities always faced challenges like poverty, lack of education and information, health issues, poor sanitation, inappropriate business ideas, and lack of community empowerment.
Vision
Our vision is of a community in which children, youth, women and elderly who are grappling with poverty and access to basic needs are productive, motivated, ready to meet challenges and becoming self reliant to effectively eradicate poverty and reduce suffering.

To empower and equip members of the community with skills, knowledge, motivation to address the causes and effects of HIV/AIDS, poverty, poor health systems and to advocate, support and recognize good practice in the management of people in the humanitarian and development sector in rural communities in Uganda
